Self Advocate Summit 2026

The Self Advocate Summit is a statewide event that brings together individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), self-advocates, families, service providers, and community partners for a day of shared learning and connection.

The Summit is centered on the Self Advocate program, which supports individuals with IDD in developing leadership skills, understanding their rights, and participating more fully in their communities. Through personal stories, educational presentations, and resource sharing, the Summit highlights the importance of self-advocacy and peer leadership.

Programming for the Summit takes place in a centralized main hall, allowing all attendees to participate in the same conversations throughout the day. Presenters include self-advocates, community leaders, and professionals who share information about advocacy, available resources, and opportunities for community involvement.

In addition to the main presentations, attendees have the opportunity to connect with organizations and service providers who support individuals with IDD across New Mexico. These interactions help participants learn about programs, services, and tools that can support independence, leadership, and community participation.
